After Idalia hit our county, it looked like a warzone. Thank goodness for FSBIT and the Emergency Advantage Program. They stepped in right away to guide us and take action. Two and a half years later they are still helping me with documentation and support. I truly do not know what we would have done without them!
The FSBIT Emergency Advantage program proved essential to DeSoto County’s recovery after Hurricane Ian. Because key emergency contractors were already pre-positioned through FSBIT, the district was able to begin damage assessment, stabilization, and repairs immediately after the storm eliminating delays, reducing costs, and ensuring critical facilities were secured and operational far sooner than we thought possible. This force-multiplier accelerated DeSoto County Schools’ return to normal operations.
